On the way to work, rescuers spotted a stray puppy named Gus with a horrific, rotting head wound and a shoelace embedded deep into his neck. After searching for him all day, they finally rescued him and rushed him to the emergency vet.

The X-rays revealed an even more horrifying truth: his body was full of pellet gun bullets, and the shoelace had likely been tied around his neck when he was just a tiny puppy, slowly cutting deeper as he grew.

Gus underwent multiple surgeries, a blood transfusion, intensive pain management, and months of rehabilitation. Despite unimaginable suffering, he never gave up. Thanks to the dedicated care from compassionate veterinarians and his rescue family, Gus gradually healed, learned to trust humans again, and rediscovered the joy of love, play, and safety.

From a terrified puppy who was waiting to die, Gus has transformed into a happy, playful boy. His incredible recovery is a powerful reminder that kindness can truly change a life forever. 🐶❤️

Marmalade was brought to the shelter on March 31 after a family found her wandering the streets. They kept her for a couple of weeks, hoping they would be able to find her owner, but nobody ever came forward. Since they couldn’t keep her, they brought her to the shelter.
They said Marmalade got along wonderfully with their children and with other dogs.
Ever since that day, Marmalade has sat in her kennel day after day, week after week, month after month. She has watched countless dogs leave the shelter. Puppies, other breeds, dogs that arrived long after she did. Yet nobody has ever asked about her.
And that is hard to understand, because Marmalade is one of the sweetest and happiest dogs at the shelter.
She stays quiet in her kennel. Most of the time, she simply stands at her door and watches people walk by, almost as if she is praying that one of them will stop and finally notice her.
But nobody ever does.
Today, Marmalade is telling her story, and I truly believe that somewhere out there is the person who will watch this video and realize that Marmalade is the dog they have been looking for all along.

We got x-rays done to try and see if she was indeed spayed and found out that she had been shot at least three times. There are three bb pellets emedded in her body 💔 We had suspected she may have been abused.
