Two of our dogs have returned from their first ever sea crossing over to Northern Island, along with numerous colleagues, to assist with the recent public order.

PD's Viper and Kenzo found the crossing much easier than one of the handlers 🤢

This week's shifts have seen our dogs wearing their cool coats with air con on and short toilet breaks in shaded areas.

Meanwhile we are still receiving calls about dogs left in cars!!

Even with windows down it is simply too hot so please leave them at home 🙏🏼

PD Woody (and lead holder) responded to a report of a burglary at Travis Perkins earlier this evening.
With colleagues containing the area and the 'eyes in the sky' up above it took Woody less that 30 seconds to locate the burglar hiding at the back of a shed 👌🏼

PD Jenni and Zola have passed their licensing and join our department as operational drugs/cash/firearm recovery dogs.

PD Zola, we're sure is no stranger to you all.
She was our scanning dog (trained in just drugs on people) but has upskilled to be a D/C/F dog.

It's training week for PD's Pippa and Trevor with guest appearances from PD's Buddy and Zola

To train for accuracy and rule out indications on contaminants out came the cannisters.

8 cannisters, 7 with different odour/contaminants, 1 held the training scent.

Congratulations on our latest 2 new PD dogs who have passed their licenses today. PD Ghost is going to partnered with PC Phil, who recently had to retire PD Rufus. PD Kenzo will be partnered with PC Leanne.
