So I came across a post about an escaped dog on FB (don't worry, it has a happy ending). Basically, it went on an adventure and caught the bus to town.
So basically, this dog can navigate public transport better than I can. Except when it comes to catching a Transpennine Express train. Don't worry doggy, that eludes pretty much all of us atm...
Really important thread about how much the govt really gives a shit about the north. To add context, this is a once an hour service for the Dearne Valley towns. I used to live in one of them. We already had a shite service but to cut a peak time commuter train is utter madness.
A little earlier this morning, the 8.16am Northern service left Sheffield for Leeds. It's used by hundreds of commuters every day - but it's being axed in May.
I recently joined passengers to find out their thoughts as their daily route to work faces being ditched. (1/6)
@DavidPetts1 Hi David. Yes about 10 years ago for my PhD but it was only from land not sea. However if you check out the admiralty charts on the nls from the 18th/19th century as well. It was used as a waymarker along with North Berwick law.
@Michael_TSB@PlanningShit I'm annoyed about the loss of detailing around the windows. It doesn't look like much but it's removed the character of the pub. Would it have hurt to preserve the pub name in the banding either? On the other hand it doesn't look finished. Maybe they are going to add some colour?
@susmounds there are some nice walks in Greater Manchester. Burrs Country Park and Cheesden Valley, both near Bury, Healey Dell (top side of Rochdale). Broadbottom Mill is incorporated into a trail. Clifton Country Park (Salford) as well. Just off top of my head!
