Landon Garside

a very misunderstood creature often thought of as totally crazy, but have an unfortunate tendency to pull off things no one thought possible.
I am a MARKETER!

[Landon Garside @LandoGside]

@ZaraAi56190 I'll do $40,000
Would be enough to pay off my car and get new Photo equipment to replace my 13 year old gear.

[Landon Garside @LandoGside]

@Punk2027 I would be totally satisfied with paying my car off, a few small debts, and enough for my trip to Texas.
It's a work trip, but I need to pay it first and get reimbursed later.
So I could actually pay that portion back in a few weeks and you could use that for someone else.

@shefska HAHA!!! Didn't catch the live today, but I did make it in time to be the 1,000th LIKE for the video today!
Love everything you guys do!
Keep it up!!!

[MrBeast @MrBeast]

This past year i’ve slowed down our videos, focused on story telling, let scenes breathe, yelled less, more personality, longer videos, etc. And our views have skyrocketed!

My fellow YouTubers lets get rid of the ultra fast paced/overstim era of content. It doesn’t even work 💀

[Car Dealership Guy @GuyDealership]

Don’t have exact numbers yet

But based on messages Ive received

I can confidentially tell you that January was the one of the *worst* months in years for Stellantis dealers.

It’s getting rough out there.

(FYI Stellantis is corporate name for Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, RAM, Fiat)

[Zach Shefska @shefska]

@GuyDealership I wonder if it has to do with the fact that they have increased their MSRPs by 50%+ in the past five years. I wonder ...

[Landon Garside @LandoGside]

@MrBeast Oh that would be so amazing right now, but honestly I think it would be rather life changing for whoever you pick for it!
Love the work you do to help others.
Also totally love the Crunchy Mr. Beast candy bars.
Grab them all the time at Sheetz lol

[MrBeast @MrBeast]

I’m gonna give 10 random people that repost this and follow me $25,000 for fun (the $250,000 my X video made)

I’ll pick the winners in 72 hours

[Landon Garside @LandoGside]

@shefska Hahaha!!!!🤣 GOOD!!! The reason I'm not in the industry anymore is bc this crap was happening more and more, and I was refusing to do it! I hope this is the start of a huge reckoning in the Auto Industry

[Landon Garside @LandoGside]

@RavennaZane I'm down!!!

[Landon Garside @LandoGside]

@shefska Yeah... seen that kind of thing way too many times at shady dealers with bad reviews.
It won't matter soon cause in 2024 Google is changing how they do things with ratings because of things like this and "Reputation" agencies

[Landon Garside @LandoGside]

@farzyness @jimfarley98 @Ford Absolutely agree, and ppl who seem confused by that apparently don't know much about generating organic social traffic and how effective it can be without blowing your entire advertising budget and creating brand awareness and loyalty. Sigh oh well

[Landon Garside @LandoGside]

@GuyDealership I drive past a Dealership almost every single day that's gone out of business and for sale, but no one will buy it.
Literally a few cars on their lot rusting away

[Landon Garside @LandoGside]

@GuyDealership That's just the US though.
Globally Fiat is doing just fine and Stellantis' biggest seller overall for 2023 out of the 14 or so brands ever own

[Landon Garside @LandoGside]

@GuyDealership Oh I agree so much!!!!

The most under-hyped vehicles right now:

Hybrids.

Consumer adoption has been sky-rocketing.

Market share of Hybrids has grown from 6.5% to 11.4% since last year.

EV market share has grown at ~1/5th of that rate, for context.

Look, here’s the deal -

Tesla will likely continue winning the EV market share wars. The company offers a desirable product and has solidified it’s spot as the leader in the space.

But say it with me: demand for Tesla EVs ≠ demand for Legacy EVs.

Different products.
Different consumer preferences.
Different target market.
Different price ranges.
etc etc etc

Bottom line:

Legacy manufacturers are due for a painful reconsideration of their investments in EVs.

The data (and anecdotes) don’t support these levels of investment.

Day’s supply of Legacy EVs (Ford, Chevy, etc) is rising ~2X faster than the rest of the car market.

The cars aren’t moving. And many dealers are rejecting inventory allocation from the manufacturers.

If — big if — Legacy manufacturers are truly listening to consumers, we‘ll soon start to see a slow (and painful) transition from more EVs to more Hybrids.

Maybe, just maybe, those Prius drivers were up to something after all…

What do you think?
