As though City AM is not involved in class war. 80% of the UK population cannot afford the fees of private schools, which exist for the benefit of the rich. There are perfectly good state schools. Why not try then and make them better.
@evD026587241476@lotte_hughes The facts are clear. Only the richest people can afford private education that does not contradict that some rich people are quite happy to send their children to state schools.
@simonhancock_uk Opting out of a state provision has never legally or fiscally exempted anyone from general taxation, nor does it turn a service fee into a double tax. It is a private lifestyle and educational choice, and under the current framework, it is now taxed as one.
@IrritableChris I don't have a problem with that argument. I just think the idea that those who provide their children with a private education are performing a public service is absurd
Student debt isn't a funding mechanism , it's a policy choice to make young people pay for public goods. The real scandal: the UK taxes graduates to fund pensions instead of using fiscal space.

@AaronBastani Surely there is no like to like comparison here. GNP is a very porous term and it is unlikely anyone is using the same methodology to compare different nations let alone at different time periods.
I only started paying into my work pension last September I couldn't afford the 9% salary sacrifice and for the last 10 years I hadn't been on secure contracts. Millions are experiencing the same difficulties. Which is why protecting our State pension is important.
I'll tell you what's 'unsustainable', and it's not state pensions, NHS funding or disability benefits. It's a society in which the majority works longer hours for lower wages so the 1% becomes richer still.
In response to my report to the police about Farage they have sent me a very long list of questions. Presumably hoping I will give up. I've answered them all.
