Kyiv hosted the Sixth Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen, which was dedicated to resilience. Thank you for being with us on this special day – the 35th anniversary of the restoration of Ukraine’s independence. Thank you for your productive work, important dialogue, and exchange of experience. Thank you, @ZelenskaUA!

All our previous Summits of First Ladies and Gentlemen, as well as this one, prove that humanitarian diplomacy is not an addition to high-level politics, but one of its pillars. And may this pillar remain strong and always resilient. So that we remain resilient. So that Ukraine remains strong – through our unity with you.

We need missiles for Patriots, and only our partners can provide them. We ain’t talking about gifts. Ukraine is ready to buy the weapons we need. What matters is that decisions be made, first and foremost in the U.S. I am grateful to everyone who is helping Ukraine save lives.

Today, 103 Ukrainian warriors are returning home from Russian captivity.

They are defenders from the Armed Forces, the State Border Guard Service, and the National Guard. Among those released are warriors who defended Ukraine in Mariupol and in the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Dnipro, and Sumy sectors.

I thank all our warriors who are replenishing Ukraine’s exchange fund and, through their courage, making it possible to bring Ukrainians home. I am grateful to the team that works every day to secure the release of our people.

We remember every man and woman who still remains in captivity. We are doing everything possible to bring all our people home.
