Had some fun thinking about insulation and energy efficiency as part of new Environmental Conservation badge with Cubs. Obviously had to test our coats as well!
In light of the growing unpleasantness around @bathhalf I took the decision this morning to protect the charities I was running for (@Oasis_Bath and @LarkhallScouts ) and run a cold solo half marathon on my own which I completed along the Bitton track. Sponsor link on profile
It's the @bathhalf this Sunday, and our chair of trustees @dvernalls is running to raise money for Oasis Hub Bath and @LarkhallScouts. He is so nearly there - can you help him reach his target? Click on the link below to find out more and to donate. https://t.co/YFafrktAad
One of our Cub leaders is taking part in the Bath Half Marathon in a few weeks, and will be raising funds for our building renovation project as well as another local charity (@Oasis_Bath). If you can support this please take a look here - https://t.co/6Q3zqaHtS7 Thanks.
Tonight Cubs investigated the story behind one of the names on the Larkhall war memorial as an act of remembrance. Charles Garraway lived in Larkhall, went to the same school as many Cubs, but sadly was killed in action in Feb 1917 just a few weeks after being called up
Thank you to @larkhallScouts for inviting us along tonight. We were very impressed with your interest in and knowledge of amphibians. We really enjoyed meeting you. Hope you enjoyed the talk, and of course the fab chocolate frogs courtesy of

Three teams competed in the Sodbury Challenge 5 hour night orienteering exercise last night. Our first time involved so a steep learning curve for the Scouts involved. Respectable scores and good teamwork in evidence - well done all.
Had a team on site from DWP today with us helping clear a few areas of the grounds. Clearing the front of accumulated brambles will make it safer to get in and out especially for children. Long term we want to create a safe pedestrian entrance.
In Scouting we often have fun using our #skillsforlife out in wild weather but we have a warm home to go back to. One of our leaders is out today supporting @JulianHouseUK who work with homeless people. Please consider donating if you can #circuitofbath
Never good to be homeless - todays foul weather is stark reminder of the really horrible days. I've taken a last minute place on todays #circuitofBath 20 mile walk to try to raise some funds for @JulianHouseUK - link to donate if you would like to - https://t.co/Edwejaj3jJ
End of term - games, fire, marshmallows and two great Cubs moving on to Scouts having earned their Chief Scouts Silver award. All gone home with some challenges for the summer break #Skillsforlife
Funny how Cubs parents were keeping their distance at pick up time last night. Wonder if that had anything to do with the huge water fight we ended our water challenges evening with. #drownedrats
