1. The rest of Africa fought for its liberation alongside its greats. Your freedom is Africa’s freedom.

2. Though without land, but that you can move around almost freely in your country is on the back of the rest of Africa.

3. African countries refused to participate at global meets - sporting and political, broke their relationships with several countries for the sake of South African freedom.

4. It wasn’t the most they did for your forefathers. They did more. Find someone to read some of the books of your greats and have them translate to you.

5. I attended a secondary in Nigeria where every classroom paid homage to the fight against apartheid in South Africa. As school kids, we were being indoctrinated into that fight. I am grateful for that. Ensures I stay committed to South African freedom, even amidst unlettered citizens like you.

6. Of all the failings of the ANC, nurturing a large population of illiterate people with zero sense of self and history is its greatest undoing.

7. Because unemployment you can fix inside half a decade, inequality you can address within half a generation. But you see mass illiteracy and low sense of self? That’d take a mass mental surgery. That’d take more than half a century.

8. That is not even the tragedy. The tragedy is that y’all have no clue. We will continue to fight for your freedom though. Until all of Africa is free, Africa is not free.
