.@NABJ I’m livid. NONE of us committed to this panel proposal. And you knew that for WEEKS. And then you lied to attendees and said it was “canceled.” IT WAS NEVER CONFIRMED.
“Well, let’s say this Twinkie represents the scale of the bag that Jonathan Majors fumbled. After this evening's news update, it would be a Twinkie… thirty-five feet long weighing approximately six-hundred pounds.” https://t.co/mo1Uuea1jB
Not saying I want movies to die but if folks didn’t go out to the movies to take advantage of a beautiful weekend with perfect beach weather, who am I to denounce them. I was out there grilling delicious foods myself.
@Lons For sure. I found myself getting really pissed off at a post I saw this morning implying that those of us who didn’t go to the movies this weekend to see Furiosa are the reason it’s failing at the box office and that we shouldn’t call ourselves movie fans. Like what is that?
Look, I love the movies. I love going. But my schedule is so erratic that I can’t make time to go every week like I used to and streaming is helping me stay up to date with films.
Maybe movies would have inevitably become less popular as generations shift and new entertainment options became available. Maybe streaming is actually keeping movies in the conversation, and if they were only available in theaters, there'd be even less fresh interest in them.
