How do I remove options from ‘Club I have added’? Some Club names are incorrect due to my terrible typing, and I don’t want to see them in the list…
I believe Dionisi has done everything he can, but what can he really do in a club that is spiralling out of control…?
Pozzo and Duxbury have ruined every manager who’s walked through the door.

@BBCSport3CR@thewatfordway@GeoffDoyle1 Feel for him. I believe Dionisi has done everything he can, but what can he really do in a club that is spiralling out of control…? Pozzo and Duxbury have ruined every manager who’s walked through the door.
Today’s 0-4 at the Vic against a Burnley side that had gone the best part of a year without an away league win is as bad as it gets. Three goals down inside half an hour. The away end celebrating their first win in 241 days. Our own supporters already calling for the owners before the hour.
This isn’t a bad afternoon or a poor tactical setup. It’s the logical endpoint of fourteen years under the same ownership.
I have said for years that Dave Bassett’s short spell felt like the worst of times as a fan. That was a club in freefall after the Graham Taylor peak, short on quality and direction. What we have now is worse. The damage is structural, and it has stripped the club of its identity.
Under the Pozzos, with Scott Duxbury as the permanent face of the operation, we have cycled through two dozen permanent head coaches. Each one is presented as the man who will finally unlock the squad and end the excuses. Then the results flatline. The recruitment stays a revolving door of short-term assets. The defensive fragility never gets fixed. And the axe falls again.
The manager changes. The pattern does not. And with every change, the club drifts further from what it once was.
The Watford I grew up with under Graham Taylor had a clear identity. A community club that punched above its weight. Played with purpose. Felt connected to the town. Local lads came through and stayed long enough to mean something. Continuity mattered. There was a style and a culture you could recognise.
That has been systematically dismantled. What remains is a recruitment and trading operation that treats the Championship as a shop window. Young players arrive, develop or don’t, then leave. Experienced leaders are optional. Managers walk into bare-bones squads and are then blamed when the results follow.
Months without a clean sheet. Goal differences that belong in a relegation scrap. Home form that has turned Vicarage Road into a place where even sides in freefall can turn up and win. These are not one-off failures. They are the product of a club that no longer knows, or cares, what it is supposed to stand for.
Duxbury’s annual promises of “no excuses” and “achieving our potential” ring hollow. The parameters are never defined. The accountability never reaches the boardroom. The ownership has delivered promotions and Premier League spells in the past. That is not in dispute.
What has been delivered since is a club that lurches between mid-table mediocrity and genuine crisis. A fanbase watching the same cycle play out so often that the latest defeat no longer feels surprising. It feels inevitable. And with it has gone the sense that this is still our club rather than someone else’s asset.
Today’s result against a side that had forgotten how to win away simply confirms what many of us have been saying. The common factor across all those managers is not the men in the dugout. It is the people who keep hiring them, selling the squad out from under them, and then acting surprised when nothing improves.
Troy’s right.
The performances and results on the pitch have long since stopped being primarily about the manager. They are the product of ownership and executive management that have normalised decline, erased the historic identity of the club, and then hidden behind the next appointment.
Enough. The club is being bled of both competitiveness and character by the same executive decisions that have produced this mess.

"Get lost! How dare you ruin what's part of our country, our DNA in this country."
Ian Holloway had some very strong words when asked about the Man City charges.
@DylanSaintGerma@nocontextfooty The point is more about supporting the local team. U can still support bigs clubs outside ur country/city, but don’t forget ur local club. Go support them, go support ur local community, that is what football should be about. Money is definitely important, but not everything
This story is deep… Edoardo Bove scored his first goal last night since returning to football and a group of Roma fans from the London supporters club were there to celebrate the moment with him. 🙏🏽
Edoardo returned to the pitch with Watford last month for the first time since he suffered a cardiac arrest whilst playing for Fiorentina, on loan from Roma back in 2024.
He wasn’t allowed to play football in Italy again because of the subcutaneous defibrillator he had implanted but got an opportunity to begin his comeback journey with Watford in the Championship in January. 🤝🏽
"To have the opportunity to live this kind of feeling again is the main reason why I love football, to celebrate with my team, with my fans and my family.
“I have to thank everyone for this goal. It’s like closing a circle.”
Such a beautiful moment seeing Bove celebrate this milestone with both Watford and Roma fans… so glad to see you back on the pitch 🤞🏽❤️
