In a recent Q&A with Larson Packaging’s Director of Business Development, Todd Teach, one thing becomes clear—great packaging isn’t just about materials. It’s about responsiveness, collaboration, and understanding the real challenges customers face.
From managing complex supply chains to delivering under tight timelines, the conversation highlights how modern packaging partners need to go beyond simply “supplying” products. The real value comes from solving problems—fast, accurately, and with the customer’s end use in mind.
It’s a reminder that in high-stakes industries, packaging plays a critical role in protecting not just products, but operations, timelines, and reputations.
If you’re rethinking what you expect from your packaging partner, this is well worth a read.

Engineering a custom packaging solution for a 6,000 lb server rack leaves zero room for error. That’s why we partner with Arplank Direct.
In our latest video, Terry Craig explains why their EPE and EPP bead-type foams are game-changers for the cushion pallet market:
✔️ Isotropic Performance: Predictable strength from every angle—no "weak spots" common in traditional extruded foam.
✔️ Sustainability: Lower densities that displace heavier materials, reducing polymer use by up to 50% and shrinking carbon footprints.
✔️ Reliability: Superior resistance to "creep" (long-term deformation), ensuring your heavy equipment stays protected throughout the entire logistics chain.
At Larson Packaging Company, we’ve been "first movers" with these materials for over a decade. Curious about the data? Watch Terry Craig explain why 'isotropic' isn't just a buzzword—it’s a safety requirement.

Why are we moving our customers toward Expanded Polyethylene (EPE) and Expanded Polypropylene (EPP) for server racks and cushion pallets?
In this video, Terry Craig from ARPLANK Direct breaks down the tech behind the foams. Unlike traditional extruded materials, EPE and EPP are built from millions of steam-fused beads. This creates an isotropic structure—meaning it provides the same predictable protection regardless of the direction of impact.
𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀:
✔️ 𝗠𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗪𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗦𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀: Our 1.9 lb EPP does the work of a traditional 4 lb PE.
✔️ 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: 100% recyclable and melt-reprocessable.
✔️ 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻: No performance variance across the plank.
Watch to see how ARPLANK Direct's EPE and EPP are helping us lower our carbon footprint while increasing protection.

Traditional polyethylene has been the industry standard for decades, but it's time to talk about the "far superior" alternative: Expanded Polyethylene (EPE) from ARPLANK.
In our latest video, Larson Packaging Company's Todd Teach and Terry Craig from ARPLANK break down why LPC is shifting more customers toward EPE. The benefits are clear:
✔️ Massive Weight Savings: We recently shaved 16 lbs off a single case unit by switching to EPE.
✔️ Superior Performance: Isotropic properties mean predictable protection from every angle.
✔️ Cleaner Tech: Blown with CO2, eliminating the off-gassing and "fogging" issues found in chemically blown foams.
We aren't just making boxes; we’re engineering protection. Watch the full discussion to see how we’re reducing fuel costs and environmental footprints without sacrificing a shred of durability.

🚚 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗘𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵
In a recent project, a telecommunications customer faced a recurring problem: shipping an extremely delicate optical clock that was prone to damage when packed in standard hard-plastic cases with “pick‑and‑pluck” foam.
They needed:
 Repeatable, engineered shock protection
✅ A single packing solution for two product configurations
✅ A system that could withstand real‑world freight conditions
That’s where Larson Packaging stepped in. We designed a custom corrugated shipping system with a precision‑cut antistatic PE foam insert that securely houses both configurations — eliminating multiple SKUs and the risk that comes with manual foam swapping.
To prove performance, we put the packaging to the ultimate test:
📦 Three units were shipped with 15 g shock indicators on all axes.
⚠️ One box showed evidence of significant handling mishaps.
✔️ Yet none of the shock indicators triggered, and all three optical clocks arrived in perfect working order.
This case highlights not just protection — but engineered resilience customers can trust in commercial freight.
