@ask_aubry In college, guy I was seeing pouted and told me to change out of shorts and cotton top because "it is too sexy." First and last time I complied with a man ordering me not to wear something.
@prntgdcolonized We bought a home when my eldest was 13 or 14. He had a lot of questions about mortgages, interest, etc. So, we took it as an organic opportunity to talk to him about everything financial from soup to nuts; from what a checking acct is to retirement. He's a fiscally savvy adult.
@medickimw I'm so glad my kid was already out of high school when she came out. I'm a wreck as it is, worrying about her. You have this mama's love and support. ❤️
@Msblowana@JillofTradesLA I learned very quickly, having moved to South Alabama in August, that one was never to go anywhere without hydration. The stadium needs to be held accountable in this case!! I don't know that a show should even have been allowed to go on during such extreme heat conditions.
@JProfessor@jiggyjayy2 I went through a ghosting spate in the mid nineties. Wasn't called that, but, 3 guys I could have seen myself with, and who acted into me, plus a couple friends. I guess I was the common denominator, but, I still don't get why. It made me question my own ability to read a room.
@ask_aubry I had a friend BITD who got pg by her bf, a "pro darts player", 🤣 meaning, he paid to enter tournies, made no money; told her to put "father unknown" on the BC so no CS, then tried claiming their daughter on *his* 1040. Men who don't provide for their families are disgraceful.
@ask_aubry I can't seem to recall the passage in the Bible in which Jesus uses slurs to denigrate women. Not sure where He said, "Don't treat half the population with respect; they don't deserve it." The nasty way these Troglodytes twist the Bible to be cruel is astonishing.
@ATL_DEM420@ask_aubry Whatever happened to that site from the early/mid 2000s, "Don't Date Him, Girl!" It served as a clearinghouse, (not close to exhaustive, of course), of bad dudes women had had bad experiences with. A guy from my school was on there, he'd dated girls I knew; NN was "Pervert." 🙄
@ask_aubry My lovely Indian MIL raised a good man, who loves & respects her. But, I'm his priority, he has my back, I have his. Maa wants him to be happy, be loved, thrive here in the US. There are mama's boys out there from India as anywhere else, but there are also some very good dudes.
@Baldurdash50@ask_aubry My husband & I say similar, (mutually!), but, in a spirit of *wonder* as to how, against time & distance & culture, we found each other. I'm not jealous of his mom, 🤣 nor he of my guy neighbor, as we aren't black holes of emotional need, just goofy in love. OP's a hot mess.
@ask_aubry Quickest way to lose somebody is to think and/or act like this. It's not cute. It's disordered thinking, it's not conducive to a heathy, functional, respectful relationship. Any person with a sense of self would run screaming if they saw this was said seriously.
@AccioStickThing@ask_aubry Oh yay, freakin' "John" would acknowledge mine. 🙄 19; didn't report, no hospital, got Chlamydia. And, it fucked me up to where I couldn't stay with my good hearted, beautiful BF. Misplaced shame ➡️ inability to process with him. He never stopped loving me. I lost so much. Taken.
@Ghosty02772504 @ask_aubry I do not know a single woman who cheated, then got pregnant, much less tried to pass the babies off as biologically their husband's. However, I know of (not close friends whatsoever) two dudes who have affair babies, that their wives are now forced to interact with. I'd be gone!
@ask_aubry The whole thing is awful, but goddam that first sentence. R*pe is overrated? Dude, no one is giving r*pe a five star review. No survivors are rating it highly.
@fhqwhgads41185@ask_aubry My cousin's baby daddy would smash every phone she got. They were toxic towards one another, but, violence is never justified, & I worried for her. She was a "take no BS" type in every area of life except dudes, both she & her mom put up with unreal amounts of it, from "boys."
