Thank you @KYCommishGlass for stating the obvious and pushing back as much as possible on this decision. There is serious teaching/learning work to do to help kids right now. Test prep and school rankings are about adults and $$ and privilege ... and does not help kids.
Invest in leaders and give them the resources (time, space, money, and people) to truly innovate in an environment that is committed to continuous improvement. To do this you must have high expectations, but that does not mean perfection at all times.
