@WatcherDev Well. I tried PVP Watcher.. But it feel like Blizzard gave certain classes massive advantages. MW Monk has no Interrupt as we lost Spearhand. Yet Resto Druid has many stuns including Cat Form. Cycl. Typh. Solar. Very disheartening. Feels like a stacked deck honestly.

To say Haranir were OG and then somehow took a massive genetic step to Trolls then Elves requires some sort of 'event'.

Morgoth corrupted Elves into Orcs in LOTR. Lack of a Morgoth figure in WoW means Haranir to Troll makes zero sense is.

@that_kind_oforc I would really like to know if this is still canon, or if it should be ignored. Feel bad for the people who splurged on the CE if it is ignored though for the sake of Haranir being pushed into a position of unrealistic importance.

@that_kind_oforc What do I mean? Something that wipes 90% of the race out. Elder's claim is proven false, as the black blood mutates most Haranir into monsters.
(Aside from playable chars / key NPCs)

The Haranir's issue atm is they don't 'need' anyone.
That's the flaw of a ancient perfect race.

@that_kind_oforc That's really the problem Blizzard has created by essentially overwriting the OG races Lore, and I hope they will address it. My personal thought is that they should do a "Falmer" / Scourge level event to the race. Something with the Black Blood and Xal'atath.

@TheRedShirtGuy That's definitely a big part of it. There's also the fact that they really 'do' look like Elves not Trolls. Which would imply either a Morgoth figure 'tortured' Haranir into Trolls (LoTR), or that they are wrong.

Also the idea that Haranir didn't change / evolve at all..

@TheRedShirtGuy Thats why I recommended to Keith (and he liked) that one solution might be to greenlight a few quests that find evidence directly countering Hagar.

As a secondary measure, I'd give "Ancient Haranir" a name / look distinct from Haranir. It'd closes the issue and lock it all down.

@TheRedShirtGuy From a PR standpoint, I don't think that'd be wise.

A lot of people believe this was done because someone sought to shoehorn Haranir into supreme importance at the expense of the OG races lore. Such a change would just undermine everything Keith said, and pour gas on the fire.

@Portergauge It's a good effort Porter. The ultimate problem is that they haven't made modern Haranir visually distinct from "ancient" Haranir.

They need a different name / different appearance. Otherwise nothing changes and the lore is still effectively retconned. We need something more.

I did my best to compile *every* single mention of elf-troll relations I could find, while also being as gracious to the idea of 'Haranir perspective' as possible.

@TheRedShirtGuy Yeah the ultimate problem here is how they haven't made visually distinct modern Haranir from the "ancient" Haranir. They need to be given a different name, and a very different appearance IMHO.

Otherwise nothing has changed and the lore is still in a state of effective retcon.

The idea that you go on a journey to save the world, and the price at the end is one's very life was powerful. Lufia 2 elicited a similar response, though I knew from Lufia 1 how it ended already.
