“Joseph Smith did not name the Church restored through him; neither did Mormon. It was the Savior Himself who said, ‘For thus shall my church be called in the last days, even The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.’”
A sister in my ward shared a story in her talk today that I loved.
Her coworker found out she was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was very intrigued by her beliefs.
One day at work, he asked her, “Who was the guy that founded your church again?”
Without hesitation she answered, “Jesus.”
She said that after she answered she could tell by the look on his face that it wasn’t the answer he was hoping for or expecting.
She then gave a short explanation of the Restoration and why Jesus Christ is the founder of our Church, knowing the guy was expecting to hear her say Joseph Smith.
I thought this was an awesome example of correcting a common misconception about our beliefs!
Jesus Christ is the founder of our Church. Our Church is in His name and we worship Him.
We do not belong to the Church of Joseph Smith.
We do not belong to the Church of Mormon.
We belong to the Church of Jesus Christ.
Joseph Smith is a prophet, called by God to restore the Church founded by Jesus Christ. But Jesus Christ is the figurehead of our faith.
Let’s continue to proclaim this without hesitation!

Marriage isn't built on perfect days-it's built on promises made when everything is uncertain. "For better or worse, in sickness and in health" isn't just something you say at the altar, it's something you prove in the quiet moments, the hard seasons, and the days when love feels more like a choice than a feeling.
To honor that vow is to stand firm when life shifts, to stay when it would be easier to walk away, and to hold on tighter when the storm rolls in. It means loving not just who someone is on their best day, but who they are when they're tired, hurting, or unsure.
That kind of love doesn't fade, it deepens, it strengthens, and it becomes something unshakable.
Because in the end, honoring that vow isn't about perfection, it's about commitment.
And that kind of commitment is what turns two people into something lasting. 🙏💛🙏
Joseph Smith, Prophet of the Restoration was murdered 182 years ago today.
"I had seen a vision. I knew it, and I knew God knew it. And I could not deny it."
Praise to the Man who communed with Jehovah!

Do you see it?
After the devastating earthquakes in Venezuela, rescuers pulled an 18-day-old baby alive from the rubble of a collapsed building. The baby was handed back to his father, and about 90 minutes later, crews also rescued the child’s mother.
I once knew of a bishop that had made some poor choices and had broken the covenants he had made in the temple.
He was excommunicated, and while He was at his absolute lowest he reached out to my dad, who was one of his lifelong friends, for support.
It was an incredibly hard situation to watch, because what more can you do than pray for them? Especially in a small town where everyone knows your business and gossip spreads like wildfire.
Although the odds were seemingly stacked against them, that family was able to overcome the pain and challenges they faced and remain whole.
That’s when the call came. My dad, who remained faithful to his covenants and truly mourned with those that mourn, was invited to the re-baptism of his friend.
There are few more powerful experiences and witnesses of the infinite power of the atonement of Jesus Christ than seeing someone return to the fold and have their promised blessings restored.
As Alma the Younger once said,
“oh, what joy, and what marvelous light I did behold; yea, my soul was filled with joy as exceeding as was my pain!
Yea, I say unto you, my son, that there could be nothing so exquisite and so bitter as were my pains. Yea, and again I say unto you, my son, that on the other hand, there can be nothing so exquisite and sweet as was my joy.”
Don’t get so focused on the bitterness that you fail to recognize the immense capacity to feel joy through the atonement of Jesus Christ.
“The Book of Mormon exposes the enemies of Christ. It confounds false doctrines and lays down contention. (See 2 Ne. 3:12.) It fortifies the humble followers of Christ against the evil designs, strategies, and doctrines of the devil in our day. The type of apostates in the Book of Mormon are similar to the type we have today. God, with his infinite foreknowledge, so molded the Book of Mormon that we might see the error and know how to combat false educational, political, religious, and philosophical concepts of our time.” -Pres E T Benson
🇧🇷 A Brazilian judge just sentenced two parents to prison for homeschooling their daughters.
Their crime, according to the court: "intellectual neglect" and not teaching state-approved "gender and sex education."
The girls are 15 and 11. They speak multiple languages and are both accomplished pianists.
An independent psychologist found zero signs of neglect. The prosecutor recommended acquittal.
The judge convicted them anyway. 50 days behind bars.
It's the first time in Brazilian history parents have been criminally prosecuted for homeschooling.
The mother's response: "I cannot conceive a more dictatorial state than the one that wants me in jail because I chose to exercise my right to direct the education and upbringing of my daughters."
Their case is now headed to appeal.
