@jonhoadley has been a fighter for his community and for progressive values in Michigan for years. We're so excited to see another LaunchProgress alum on the rise. #BuildTheBench
We can't wait for the federal government to act on climate--we need cities to step up. Thank you to LP alum Brian Jackson for leading the fight in Lansing! https://t.co/A3zINsQeT7
It's a disgrace that @vernettalstonNC was disinvited from speaking at her elementary school's #BlackHistoryMonth celebration because of her sexuality. Durham is lucky to have her compassion and leadership.
Most people get to the House via their State Legislature or local government. Before that, there isn't much diversity of experience. That's why we're here: to bring students, service workers, activists, nurses, teachers into elected office. https://t.co/aCmsvnD1RU
This is vital. State and local offices are our bench for higher office, and where an immense amount of power is held. Progressives ignore them at our peril.
This by far, is my favorite picture from today! My 2 year old and I walking down the Ohio Statehouse hallway.
I am so blessed to be the mother of 3 amazing, patient, gracious, beautiful daughters. #MomsInOffice#WomenLead#LeadByExample
My entire career, someone has always chimed in βyouβre so much, how do you have so much energy, control yourself more so people take you seriouslyβ
Thank you, @AOC, for leading with such vigorous authenticity that no woman will ever apologize for it again. #unapologeticallyMe
If you all have missed this story, 19-year-old Kalan Haywood of Milwaukee just became the youngest state legislator in America. https://t.co/756LL7vT3G
@AOC is an inspiration, and we're so glad she's in Congress. We're building the bench, and working to make sure Congress has more young, joyful, powerful progressives to hold things down.
@AOC also nodded to young candidates running for office.
"But I think it is really part of the larger question about who should run and how we should run and I think it is great. You can be young and run for office. You can have joy in life and run for office."
We're grateful for your 8 years of service, @RepDanRamos. Even while facing down a reactionary GOP supermajority, you have not been afraid to stand for what's right.
Today, I introduced my last 11 pieces of legislation, on issues like how we fund transportation in our state to helping students pay for college and graduates to pay off their loans to feeding the hungry, to preventing sexual assault. I hope the next GA works on these issues.
