Writers! As I approach the end of my 2nd year as a literary agent, I'm feeling the spark to open my submissions to adult fiction. If you have a stunningly gorgeous upmarket novel, aimed for women readers, send me your queries! Sub info in bio. #publishing
@sasha_fletcher @mariskreizman No this is not accurate. There was an active campaign calling for every speaker to take a predetermined stand, and Zibby pushed back against hijacking the event and forcing performance activism. Sorry the truth doesn’t align with your monolithic narrative, but there you go.
Just learned about #questpit! I’m enjoying your pitches! If I ‘like’ your pitch and you’d like to query me, send to [email protected] and put my name in the subject line.
#amquerying writers: I’m open for submissions this month! I’m looking for nonfiction that’s authoritative and zeitgeisty. No memoir, please. I’ll be on the lookout for your brainchildren! #nonfiction#submissions#writers#queries
Very excited to announce I have written a manifesto about what *upmarket fiction* REALLY IS for @JaneFriedman's site and it will be going live later this month. It's full of concrete examples, a case study, and I hope it will help everyone.

Thanks to agent & @TheOpEdProject board member @lauramazer!
I bought a fancy hair product at a salon and the cheap version at the drugstore and the cheap version worked better, so now I’m just sitting here waiting for beauty mag reporters to interview me for their Splurge or Save pages
A time and effort saving tip for #nf#writers with proposals: If your book isn’t a design-driven concept, your proposal doesn’t need to be designed either. Clean, easy to navigate text is perfect, you can skip the fonts and graphics and bells and whistles and such. #publishing
@likaluca All of this, plus a double dose of the Amazon Algorithm. The Amazonbots set their initial order on a formula of Preorder times X, and the higher the number, the more aggressively they’ll promote/rank the title.
@growthesunshine @MarindaOnline Did your experience match up? Only some publishers don’t back up the pretty words … plenty of teams are goodsmartkind people who menlan what they say
