Homer describes Helen, Andromache, Hera, Persephone, female slaves, and handmaids, all of them, as “white-armed,” meaning white skin.

There is literally no other translation on the LSJ lexicon. Nothing about working classes.

But the word “leukos” exists as a compound and also non-compound in many places within the Homeric epics to denote the whiteness of the skin.

He applies the exact same epithet to all women: goddesses, noble mortals, and slaves alike.

The LSJ lexicon lists only one meaning: “leukolenos” means “white-armed,” having white arms, literally white skin. Nothing about working classes in the 1200 BC.

For the Greeks there were no criteria based on skin colour, yet there were the words to describe the colour of the skin. As for example the Ethiopians.

It comes from the word “aithops” which in Greek means: the one who has a fiery appearance, as if he has been burned, the black, the dark one. The Greeks saw the Ethiopians and named them according to their black skin. Simple as that.

The Greeks were always localists, tribalists and racialists. Always proud of their city and their origin.

In fact they were so racialist that a few years later, together with the founding of the Olympic Games as well as other panhellenic festivals, they also had the Hellanodikai.

The Hellanodikai investigated the origin and the bloodline of every athlete who was obliged to prove that he was Greek and not a barbarian and foreigner. Non-Greeks were forbidden to participate in the games which were held in honour of the Gods of Olympus.

They want to convince you that these Greeks lived in a multicultural Greece in 1200 BC and in 800 BC and in 500 BC.

Soon they will tell us that against the Persians the Greeks also had Africans helping them in the battles or they will tell us that Socrates had an African Ethiopian pupil.

The Africans have their own history and the Greeks have ours.
