So the next time you hear a woman or a man calling out an inappropriate comment or action and think they’re being dramatic because it was only a joke. This is why. It’s not a joke. It’s a fucking problem.
The fact this tweet has nearly 40k likes shows you the smallest amount of gravity of this issue. To the point it’s become normalised for women to EXPECT harassment on a daily basis.
She was 23, and went for a run in the afternoon and was beaten to death. Beaten. Let that sink in. She was also found in a place called Fiona’s way. A place named after yet another woman who was killed.
I will hear NOTHING over the fact that trying to chat up a woman or harassing her in the street isn’t the same as killing her. Well guess what, the attitude that it’s okay to kill a women started somewhere. It started because of the attitude towards women that is engrained.
2021 has been a funny old year, so I wrote down the things I've learned! It's not been ideal but I think it would be silly to look at a whole year as a waste, as there is always something you can take from it.

Most guys don’t look in the mirror & see a problem. But it’s staring us in the face. Sexual violence begins long before you think it does. #DontBeThatGuy
It’s not meant to be a comfortable thing to accept or understand. Knowing at some point you’ve said something that is deemed inappropriate or has made a woman uncomfortable shouldn’t be nice to hear. But accepting that and learning is how we grow.
If you are immediately bothered by the #DontBeThatGuy ad as a man, then it is likely that you miss some of the behaviour you do towards women when you think you are being funny or a lad. Stop it. Stop playing the victim, start taking action.
With the news of abortions laws recently, I’ve shared my two pence on the war against women in our society.
If you benefit from society’s privileges afforded to men, I strongly urge you to give it a read: https://t.co/yqB3k2vLT1
