Alternatively, we may see minimal sway to Amash across the board anyway if Hall and Snyder (2015) holds in a general election setting. Although, this depends on how much information voters can get given all of the covid coverage.

If Amash runs, it will be interesting to see if Eggers and Vivyan (2020) holds in a US general election setting. They find that, in recent British elections, older and wealthier voters were more likely to vote strategically.

So, if the same applies in the US (a big if) an Amash candidacy may not sway too many Trump voters.
