Nothing is working. Everything Thelamina has tried is just blowing up in her face. And when confronted by her enemy's twin, she can't stand it anymore. If Thelamina is going to have a chance to win back her life, she needs to make a decision, and now. In chapter 6 of Seraph's Curse: The Heiress of Ice, find out what that decision will be.

Just finished another chapter of The Elequan Legacy's second book! I'm mostly happy with it...but I'm also not convinced that it doesn't need entirely rewritten from the other character's POV. Time will tell, I suppose. But for now, that's the sort of thing I can make a final decision on when I'm working through the second draft.
Every morning there are two voices that wake up along with me. The first whispers with a kindly cadence, "You want to play a game today."
The second then reaches over and makes a half-hearted attempt to smother the first into the nearest pillow. "No," it says, "you need to write. You're already too slow as is and have a lot you want to do."
The first wriggles away from the second, "But it would be nice get something off the backlog!"
"Yes," the second answers with a nod, "but it would be better to finish another chapter."
The first pouts slightly. "But game..." it whines.
"But book..." the second retorts to mock it.
I sigh while indecision bickers until a third voice very roughly wriggles in as close to me as he can get. "Mom!" He says, though sometimes he doesn't. This voice I hug, then I kiss, and after a short while I get up. The other two continue to glare sourly at each other, both knowing that the second is right. I glance at my backlog anyway. Soon, I think, and then put it away.
I've been posting updates for Seraph's Curse recently, but just because it's my new YA book doesn't mean you can't go and read the first novel I put out!
The Elequan Legacy: Fool's Errand is about a circus acrobat named Saraya who is charged by her ringmaster to fulfill the duties of an assassin. Her mission: to throw a wrench into the dark gods' plans of bringing about their era's Fall. But Saraya has a tendency of being her own worst enemy, and she's going to need the help of those who cross her path if she wants to accomplish her mistress's goal.

My son doesn't really speak and getting him to answer questions is worse than pulling teeth. I've been wondering how to get him better at doing both and so, today, I asked him to tell me a story. With a lot of prompting and questions, we did make a tale together. I got a kick out of it, and thought maybe some others will too. I scribbled up a doodle to go along with it, but my real hope is that--if I can keep this up--it'll help him learn to talk and ask questions.
Anyway, here's my son's first ever story:
Once upon a time, there was a turtle. He was the most turtle-iest of turtles that ever turtled. One day he ate some stew. It was a normal stew. It was a new stew though, one he had never tried before. There were potatoes in the stew. There were carrots in the stew. There were also turtle snack foods, like cheese crackers and noodles. He also added chips. Eggs chips to be exact. Then he ate it. Delicious turtle stew!
When you're writing and didn't realize that you were creating a scenario that would definitely trigger your MC's previously-unrevealed fear of enclosed spaces, but it's definitely what would happen and so now you have to balance her dealing with that alongside everything else that was supposed to happen in the chapter.
You want to talk about movies that I can't just let passively play, it's the Chronicles of Narnia movies. That trilogy stirs up way too many emotions for me to just try to ignore it and do something else.
Aaaaaaall right. Did a lot of cleaning and cooking today. Now let's see if I can get some writing done on The Elequan Legacy: book 2 now that the day has finally settled down.
Chapter 5 of Seraph's Curse is out! Thelamina is seeking help from the only place she can in the hope of avoiding the need to hand her soul over to a demon. But, will it do her any good? Read here to find out!

I was doing an experiment with Seraph's Curse's chapter release date and discovered that I need to switch it up. Probably gonna put chapter 5 up tomorrow and at an earlier time. In the meantime, if you've not started reading yet, you can begin here!

I hate that game companies stopped putting manuals in game cases. It was an easy way to see art, view controls and learn a little extra lore. My son is having a grand time going through our collection and looking at them, which is just another reason to hate that they're gone.
What exactly is a demon? What magic do they possess and what is Seraph's offer to Thelamina that she might reclaim what is rightfully hers? All these questions are answered in Chapter 4 of Seraph's Curse: The Heiress of Ice!

@klhicks912 Real talk? Losing my husband, because then I won't have his help for bouncing ideas or his editor's expertise for knowing if something in the story could be done a little better or doesn't quite fit. I rely on his critical eye a lot, and so to think to not have it destroys me.
Didn't write today, but I did get a lot of lore fleshed out for the world of The Elequan Legacy. Creating holidays is a whole lot of fun, and I love keeping track of everyone's day-by-day progress on an actual calendar.
A heatwave would hit while our AC is broken. There is no longer silence in this house, only the ever-present droning of fans. Makes it a bit hard to concentrate, to be honest.
Here's your reminder that a new chapter of Seraph's Curse: The Heiress of Ice goes up every Sunday! This week we reached chapter 3 and the series' titular character finally makes her appearance.
