@deaflibertarian It's because ASL is not used or taught anymore, Judi. It was taught for a while in Christian Bible studies when I grew up and a hearing impaired Dad who also had Club Feet - 8 surgery's. But it was always looked down on.

@grey4626 This one hits hard. Replica of my parents except no physical abuse. She passed in 2001 at 64 from bone narrow cancer. Dad in 2015, also cancer. We have many similar life experiences. I've learned to respect myself and I take no crap. Thanks for sharing, Grey.
