I made the varsity team as a freshman, team shoes were $18, mom gave me a note for coach, I read it on the bus and cried. I never paid for shoes or a year book in 4 years, couldn't have, I was the youngest of 12 kids, welfare, projects, THAT is why my basketball program is FREE!

As a College basketball Coach, when you "purchase" a player from the portal it doesn't really matter how many years of eligibility he has, you're only "renting" him, you'll get one year.
