Viewer discretion advised: The video attached shows a potential domestic violence situation and may be difficult for some to watch.

Around 9 p.m. Wednesday, our MESH cameras captured a possible domestic-related kidnapping in the 1400 block of Emporia Street. The video shows a man and woman in a verbal confrontation before the man forces the woman into a maroon Toyota 4Runner with a roof rack. The 4Runner was last seen heading south on Emporia, then west on East 14th Avenue.

Detectives with our Major Crime Homicide Unit are working to identify the man, the woman, and the vehicle. We need the community’s eyes and information.

If you know anything, call our detectives at 303-739-6117 or remain anonymous through Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867). You could earn a reward of up to $2,000.

NEWS RELEASE: The Aurora Police Department in partnership with the city of Aurora and the Colorado Auto Theft Prevention Authority is launching a free program aimed at preventing vehicle thefts through visible deterrents and GPS tracking. #APDNews

MetroTrack kicks off Thursday and is available to all residents of the city of Aurora. MetroTrack is an auto theft deterrent program that enables the Aurora Police Department to assist in locating stolen vehicles using GPS data provided by the vehicle’s owner.

As part of the program, APD will distribute free GPS tracking devices to help community members track and aid in the recovery of their vehicle. Residents who own vehicles that are already equipped with GPS tracking systems through a vehicle assistance program, such as OnStar, are welcome and encouraged to participate in the MetroTrack.

By enrolling in the program, residents agree to share their vehicle’s GPS location with Aurora police in the event it is stolen. It is the owner’s responsibility to access their Bluetooth tracking app and provide real-time location data to responding officers. APD cannot access a vehicle’s GPS information without the owner’s explicit consent.

81 year old Paul Prantel left his residence in the area of W Dartmouth Ave/S Newcombe St in Lakewood on March 17, 2025 at about 7:30pm, and has not returned home. Paul left his residence in his vehicle, a red Toyota Tacoma with Colorado plate 516ZYZ, which was last known to be in the area of S Kipling St between W Belleview Ave and W Bowles on the morning of March 18, 2025.

Paul suffers from dementia, and had told family when he left his residence that he was going to get food. He was last seen wearing a green jacket, red shirt, jeans, and grey tennis shoes. Paul is a White male, approximately 5’5” tall, weighing 130 pounds, with brown eyes and grey hair.

Here is a letter from Traivon Williams' mother, Tabethian:

A Letter for All

This is for everyone out there that has a heart. That is willing to help us the family of Traivon (Trey) Williams receive justice. My son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend that was taken to soon.

Traivon (Trey) Williams was 24 yrs old when he was shot and killed 5 yrs ago on this day January 19th, 2020 about 10:47 pm, by someone that was a coward. Everyone that knew him knew that he would always try to make ends meet. He would also be that helping hand if he could be or was able. He was that son that always wanted to do things for himself to show that he was a man and can take care of business.

As a brother, he had his siblings back if and when it was necessary. But most of all he was his sister's right hand. If it came down to whatever he was there. They were like twins, when one needed help the other was there. If one needed to talk the other was there. If one needed a shoulder to lean on the other was there. So, when you (whomever you are) took him away you tore that bond apart to the core.

As a grandson, one of many, was a huge peace of heart that left a hole that is taking a long time to heal. When that call came in about him getting shot, at that moment felt like a big skip heartbeat.

As a nephew, he was one that towered his aunties and uncle and was very much loved. He had his on bond with the each of them and now it's a memory.

As a cousin, he was the one that most of them hung around with most of time. He was the life and the joy that brighten up the party. He is the one that hit them the hardest to lose. He will forever be missed probably the most. And never forgotten.

As a friend, he would always try to help anyone of them if they needed, He was a support for others when they were going through something. He always had a good time hanging with those special to him.

But most of all my son will never get married, have kids, nor be here on this earth enjoying life. He was needed and wanted here. He will be missed and forever loved and never forgotten.

Now to share a back story for everyone to hear, understand what a person, a mother should never have to go through.

On January 19th, 2020 about 10:47 pm when this all happened and that call came in, as his mom that scream that came from me was something my husband will never forget in his lifetime.

Once at the hospital I his mother was never able to identify him. They said that since he had family there at the scene that was good enough. I never got to hold him to plea with him to fight one last time nor say goodbye. It took 2 weeks, 2 long weeks the day of his viewing for me to see my baby. I had 45 minutes before everyone else were able to come in to see my baby boy and love on his lifeless body and say their goodbyes.

What mother should have to go through such pain. Losing your child for any reason and then have to wait that long knowing that they were near is and forever a pain that you will always live with, and some may never come back from.

So, PLEASE give my baby Traivon justice and make that call. PLEASE.

One last thing every year that my baby has been gone I always do a balloon release and light up the skyline for him.
