Live life to the Fullest

[SUCCY BANKZ @SuccyBankz]

My girlfriend asked me to stop inviting my best friend over. She said he made her uncomfortable.

I almost laughed about it at first. Not because I thought she was lying, but because the idea felt ridiculous. Jake and I had been close for almost ten years. He’d helped me through a rough breakup, and had sat with me diring tough moments, the whole history. I’d never once seen him cross a line with anyone’s partner.

I asked her what he’d done.

She paused for a long time. It’s not one big thing,” she said. “It’s how he talks to me when you’re not in the room. The comments, the way he looks at me sometimes. I don’t know how to explain it without sounding crazy.”

I told her she didn’t sound crazy. I just didn’t get it. I asked her to give me something specific. She said she’d try later. I let it drop. Part of me was relieved. The other part already started constructing the defense, maybe she was just stressed, maybe she misread his sarcasm, maybe she didn’t like how close we were. I didn’t want to turn a vague feeling into a fight with the guy I considered family.

A few weeks later Jake came by while I was still at work. When I got home she was already in bed with the lights off, even though it was only nine. I asked if she was okay. She said she was just tired. I almost pressed, then didn’t. I told myself I was respecting her space.

Ntando Once Took Center Stage Because Of How She Lived Her Life With Bash. Purple Gang 💜 Got Angry And Turned That Anger Into Hate.

When Ntando And Bash Split After She Cheated, The Same Crowds Started Celebrating. Men Were Bashed. Pain Was Mocked. When Bash Was Found Crying By The Roadside, He Was Called Weak And Stupid. I Still Remember People Saying “We Need To Hurt Them Even More.”

That’s Not Accountability. That’s Cruelty.

Now Nandi Madida Is Being Appreciated By Men For Speaking With Balance And Calm. Suddenly The Same Groups Feel Threatened. Suddenly Men Must Feel Guilty Again. Suddenly Empathy Is A Problem.

Brother, Let’s Be Honest.
Men Are Not The Problem.
Hatred Disguised As Empowerment Is.

When Men Hurt, It’s Mocked.
When Men Heal, It’s Resented.
And The System Keeps Clapping.

That’s The Pattern.

Here’s some (not so sensational) facts 🙂:

1. People can’t just call up any dr & say “I’m an NHI user, please see me.”

That is not how it will work. Drs have a choice to opt in to be NHI providers.. and those who do opt in, will provide the service to those who want to use that option for health care.

- E.g. I can opt in to be a provider in the suburb where I work currently.

- There’s also a limit to the number of patients I can see / have on my book as “patients I’m responsible for” in the demarcated area
>>> see how this will lead to availability of spaces per day/ week/ month? It’s not the “fault” of the provider to be booked out, it’s the system. Ask the brits & how that’s working for them (wait times of 6months or more to see a GP - even to treat basic things that you can’t foresee in advance…)

If say I’m allocated 5000 patients in a 20km radius of my practice, those patients need to register on the NHI system or physically at my practice and select me as their provider - so I can’t see people who are not “my” patients. Medical aids already do this… patients are encouraged to select primary GP drs and see them primarily or they don’t get full benefits.

I hope you find a partner that understands life gets hard sometimes and you won't always be at your best.

A partner that offers you a room to be hurt and sad with understanding that you will do the same for them. I really pray that you find love that is calm ❤
