An open letter to @EASPORTSFCPro
Guys, we need to talk about the competitive scene in Brazil.
Year after year, the scene has been stripped of structure, to the point where it has become almost impossible for new players and teams to find opportunities not to mention the difficulties faced by those who are already in the ecosystem.
At the moment, we have no domestic league and are not allowed to compete in neighboring leagues such as Chile and Argentina. Meanwhile, we clearly see that the rules change when it comes to other leagues, where players from different countries are allowed to compete. I understand that leagues involve larger organizations, but I want to emphasize the sheer lack of opportunities we are facing.
Now we are dealing with yet another act of neglect toward our players. Argentine and Chilean players will have two chances to qualify for the eLibertadores. I want to make it very clear that I am not taking away any merit from those who win their leagues, but this only highlights and reinforces how sidelined we are, despite having so much talent and so many high-level players in Brazil.
I genuinely feel that the Brazilian scene is in palliative care, and that is not good for anyone. We once had five or six organizations investing in our ecosystem how many do we have now? Two? This is not a coincidence. It is a direct reflection of the lack of opportunity: if there are no competitions, there is no audience.
It is easy to see that this also impacts the global scene. Fewer players means less visibility and a growing monopoly of competitive power something that, apparently, only we are feeling the effects of.
Isn’t it time to revisit the competitive structure in South America and, at the very least, try to equalize opportunities? A future in which the Brazilian scene no longer exists is getting closer every day, and I fail to see how anyone would benefit from that.
Current South American champion and top 3 in the general ranking for the play ins. I continue F/A looking for a team/org for the rest of the season. Rts are appreciated ❤️
Thanks @rlueso for the ranking
