We have just heard that the Scottish Govt plan to scrap the cruel two child limit.

This is amazing news for Scottish families living in poverty, as a result of this policy.

Today we have signed a joint statement w @CPAGUK @ncbtweets @Gingerbread @savechildrenuk @actnforchildren @CfYoungLives @barnardos calling for @RachelReevesMP to scrap the 2-child limit in the #Budget on Wednesday.

This is also supported by 120+members of @EndChildPoverty

Ahead of the budget, the Independent Alliance is asking the Chancellor to:

1. Scrap the 2-child benefits cap
2. Reverse cuts to winter fuel
3. Tax wealth
4. Protect welfare
5. Invest in a greener future

We have the means to end poverty. We just need the political will.

This is a good start from @DWPgovuk. If this can be done to help 'break down barriers' before the Child Poverty Strategy is announced, the govt could also commit to scrapping the two-child limit.

Doing so would immediately lift 300,000 children out of poverty.
