Marvel is reportedly preparing to publicly unveil the AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY trailer during its Saturday-night Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con.

James Gunn had better be cooking something enormous for his DCU panel.

Kevin Feige plays for keeps in Hall H.

Marvel took control of that room with IRON MAN in 2007. I know because I was there.

They did it again in 2010 when the AVENGERS cast assembled onstage for the first time. I was there for that too.

Feige understands that Hall H is not simply another marketing stop. It is where Marvel creates moments that dominate the entire convention and take over the internet.

DOOMSDAY is bringing together nearly three decades of Marvel characters from multiple studios. Robert Downey Jr. is Doctor Doom. The Avengers, X-Men and Fantastic Four are all converging.

DC cannot walk into that weekend with a CLAYFACE teaser and a few vague promises.

Not after SUPERGIRL crashed and burned.

Gunn needs major MAN OF TOMORROW reveals. He needs Wonder Woman. He needs Batman. Ideally, he needs the Trinity standing together and giving audiences a reason to believe this universe is actually moving somewhere.

Maybe that means announcing a new DCU Batman. Maybe it means pulling Robert Pattinson into the main continuity. Maybe Adria Arjona finally walks onto that stage as Wonder Woman.

Whatever it is, it has to be big.

Because Marvel is coming to Hall H with twenty-six years of history behind it, and DC is arriving with a black eye from its second movie.

If Gunn does not bring the Trinity, what exactly is DC bringing to the fight?
