Pew found that 54% of U.S. adults who were raised LDS still identify as LDS today.

That does NOT mean “nearly 50% of the members are leaving the LDS Church.” You're turning a lifetime religious-retention statistic into a current membership attrition rate.

Completely different measurements.
It's also U.S. data, not worldwide LDS data, so you can't apply that 46% to the global Church.

And comparing LDS retention to “Protestant” is misleading when Protestantism is one giant umbrella. Pew found only 44% of people raised Protestant remain in the same Protestant denominational family.

Someone can leave Baptist for Methodist, Pentecostal, Lutheran, etc. and still be counted as “retained Protestant.”

And no, that 46% aren't all discovering Protestantism either 😂 Only about 11% of those raised LDS now identify as Protestant.

Finally, if people leaving proves “God is leading people out of a false religion,” then you've created an argument against your own side too. Catholics and Protestant denominations experience substantial religious switching as well.

Pew measured religious switching. It didn't measure God leading people out of Mormonism. 😂
