@OFPHOENIXMUTANT - Even the faintest thought of one of his optic blast often made him quiver. Even if deep down, he knew she was tough enough to take it.
People called him old man Logan for a reason. Grumpy. Always drinking. Never up on time. Logan.
@OFPHOENIXMUTANT It was about knowing how powerful they both were. He wouldn't be the leader if he wasn't. As physically strong as he was, his mind simply didn't match.
He was scared of even letting a single person of his kind die.
He took a deep breath.
"Go ahead."
-
@OFPHOENIXMUTANT But getting away from it all. Sometimes spending time quietly with Jean. Just wrapped in each other. It kept him at peace.
Ugh, Logan. Scottie has nothing but respect and admiration for that man, but he needs to stay away from his girl.
@OFPHOENIXMUTANT Scottie made it very clear. Jean had trusted few and loved even less. Breaking that bond was never going to happen.
"Lead the way."
Scottie just smiled and took her hand. Their spot. Their quiet place. Everything was loud. It was too much, even for Scottie sometimes. -
@OFPHOENIXMUTANT "Taught my class for the day. Got briefed on a couple things. Came to find you. Looking as pretty as ever, by the way."
A compliment followed my a kiss on her cheek. No woman compared to Jean. Not Emma Frost. Not Rogue.
@OFPHOENIXMUTANT Both joining the X-Men at the same time. Both being Charles' first students. Both feeling outcast and alone, but finding each other. With Jean, it's normal. The world is normal. Things are normal. A raging bitch? Absolutely. If Jean doesn't want to know you, she won't. -
@OFPHOENIXMUTANT - Just wanting to be understood and truly seen. Something Scottie could understand. As he was kind of shy and reserved. Their first kiss, awkward. Their first time being together, strange, but it gets easier.
"Talk to anyone else today?"
@OFPHOENIXMUTANT "Always has been."
Time spent with Jean was a luxury early on. She had to invite you in. Allow herself to be vulnerable. Scottie was just the main person she allowed, Bobby and Hank sometimes too, but mainly Scottie. The sometimes aloof, rude, mean girl, was actually soft. -
@OFPHOENIXMUTANT - He crushed on her hard too. Caught himself staring at her so often.
"I don't know what I'd do if I ever lost you."
He meant every word of that.
@OFPHOENIXMUTANT Telepaths were scary. Not just Jean, but Jean could strike fear into any man. Jean could know exactly how to tear anyone apart. Even when Scottie was younger, Jean was way worse. Hard to know. Hard to talk to. Hard to engage with. It took him so long to even speak to her. -
@OFPHOENIXMUTANT Scottie hugged Jean tightly. Being Jean's one was maybe even more special than being a mutant. She hated nearly everyone.
"You'd find some way to revive me, I'm sure."
