Joseph Woll says he was playing hockey cards when he got the trade call and admits he was emotional and sad upon first hearing the news, as he’s been with the Leafs for such a long time (drafted by the organization).

“It was a lot of emotion. I spent a long time in Toronto, so I was pretty sad to hear the news.”

A decade later, he holds the franchise record for goals, and exactly 3,654 days after drafting Matthews in the very same arena in Buffalo, the Maple Leafs will make the first selection of the 2026 NHL Draft. 👀

Gavin McKenna isn’t officially a Maple Leaf yet, but the kid just gets it. The pressure, the expectations, but also the privilege that comes with wearing the blue and white leaf.

“It would be super cool (getting drafted by the Maple Leafs) being a Canadian kid in one of the biggest hockey markets in the world. Obviously, if you’re not playing well there, you’ll hear about it, but if you win a Cup there, you’re doing good. It’s probably one of the best spots to be.”

🚨 Leafs defenceman Brandon Carlo’s name has emerged in trade talks with other teams, per @reporterchris.

With Darren Raddysh now a Leaf and Chris Tanev expected to be healthy next season, minutes on the right side of the blue line could be hard to come by.

“The ask at this point in time for Carlo is multiple mid-range picks from the Leafs.”
