Matthews runs the Leafs. A perma injured player was actively pushing for a soon to be star to be removed. What an absolute joke. Hasn’t even gotten passed the second round and the club is giving him cart blanch. What a joke of a club.
Auston Matthews was on board with the trade involving Matthew Knies and Kirill Marchenko. He knew in advance that this was a possibility and was excited about the opportunity to play with a player of Marchenko’s caliber, per @TheFourthPeriod
"If they were going to trade a young guy like Knies, they were going to get someone back who he was thrilled about, like Marchenko. A lot of the moves Toronto has made and will continue to make are about appeasing their top guys."

Knies won’t score in Columbus because he was playing with such awesome players in Toronto.
2g 1a in Columbus debut.
The Leafs are the dumbest organization in sports.
@StuCowan1 The individual first mentality seems to never be able to break. Berube tried. It’s from the top down. Kissing ass of the selfish needs of single guys over the team is embedded in the club. Needs to be torn down to studs.
Raddysh learning quickly that the big boys don’t move into open ice like logical players do and he has to find guys in weak positions or blowing the zone. He played like crap but the leafs best players as skilled as they are are the dumb player Kucherov was talking about.
Knies at 7.8 is a good look compared to Marchenko at 11 or 12. I get that they want to get faster but a big power forward with hands is important in the playoffs.
The reason Vladdy brought out the interpreter even though he didn’t need him for his ‘apology’ was to give him a few seconds to think about his answers while the interpreter repeated the questions to him.
Vlad Jr. snaps the bat.
The barrel redirects the ball into right field for an RBI single.
And he’s instantly showered with an ovation.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen that in my life. #bluejays50
