@NCAASoccer, you put our athletes in freezing conditions on the biggest weekend of their college careers. WHY?
Michele Kang is right: women’s soccer must be athletically entertaining so people say “I have to go see this game,” not “I’m going to support women’s sports.”
Cold weather cuts sprint speed and power by 5-10%.
Football understands product protection.
NCAA D1 FBS playoff games and championships are held in warm cities or climate controlled stadiums. They want the game to be fast, loud, and elite.
Cold weather kills crowd attendance and engagement.
Football gets this too. They have a marketing strategy. They create a party atmosphere for their fans and they broadcast that energy.
Don’t tell me it shows grit.
The athletes delivered elite performances on Friday night. Now the NCAA needs to deliver. It’s making the same mistake going back to Cary for the next two years.
What am I missing?
