There is a serious and dangerous escalation in the long-standing conflict between Thailand and Cambodia.
On December 8, 2025, Thai forces launched air-strikes along several parts of the disputed border following renewed clashes between the two sides.
According to multiple international reports, the ceasefire agreement signed earlier this year is now on the verge of collapse. Both countries accuse each other of violating the truce, and troop movements on the ground show that the situation remains extremely tense.

Thailand claims they acted because a Cambodian attack earlier in the day killed or wounded Thai soldiers.
But Cambodia denies launching that attack and says Thailand violated the ceasefire without justification.
