Staying cheerful, despite being housebound with ME & looming welfare cuts: Kept sane by R4, Discworld, Harry Potter & cats (not necessarily in that order)
ME/CFS Scandal Follow up
If anyone is interested in reading more about the (incorrect) psychopathologising of ME , Adam’s blog is good.
The more people that know about this the better.

Ruth Ojadi, is a black woman with Tourette’s. She sees a black man and “sings” the n-word to him. She sees a brown man then yells Jihad. When she puts in her credit card information she yells out her PIN number. She flips people off. All of these behaviors are involuntary.
Tourette Scotland shared today that donations have now exceeded £10,000 in the past week alone. Over 300 people from almost every region across the UK and beyond have contributed. That map says everything. The noise online does not represent the real world. The support does.
Thank you. Truly. Your generosity and your messages of love and solidarity for John Davidson mean more than you know to families like ours and to the wider Tourette’s community.
If you would like to support the work they do across Scotland, you can donate here:

Assisted dying is back in the news the day after we really saw what many feel about disabled people. I was scared of what might happen if we have assisted dying here before. Now I down right know what will happen. It won't be good.
“Only an industry located so firmly up its own backside could gather to honour a film illustrating the grim realities facing someone living with Tourette’s and then be so publicly aggrieved when the actuality of that illness – and the involuntary nature of its effects on those suffering from it – reveals itself in their midst.”
An Anglo-Saxon description of Ash Wednesday, written in the 990s.
The word 'Lent' comes from the Old English word for spring, 'lencten' - the season when the days are lengthening, when 'all trees quicken again which were deadened by the winter's chill'.

@FondOfBeetles I only realised the pun in the name of Nanny Ogg's house, Tir Nanny Ogg, when I did a course on Celtic Mythology. Tir na nÓg is the realm of the Irish gods.
@Jebadoo2 Scares the shit out of me. A not too distant future in which my twin sister and I could go to our GPs with the same symptoms of depression with suicidal thoughts and she would be offered treatment and I would be offered Assisted Suicide purely because I have an incurable illness.
We are LGB and stand up for the rights of LGB people wherever they are. Do not add other letters to LGB, that is offensive and discriminatory. In the UK LGB is protected by the Equality Act, this gives us rights, we do not seek privileges, we are LGB that is enough.
This is a declaration of independence. Today, lesbian gay and bisexual people have a new global organisation
