I’ve handled tens of thousands of #salamanders and this is the smallest salamander I’ve ever held. A juvenile Desmognathus wrighti coming in at 7 mm SVL and a whopping 0.07 g. Among vertebrates, only a highly efficient ectotherm could be this miniature (right @kidbeachy?).

So last week we caught one Anolis cuvieri but yesterday we literally caught two at the same time. My field assistants didn't want to get bit so I had to grab both and now I have this wild picture of me holding two at once.

#Anodonthyla_emilei is a species of microhylid frog. The frog was discovered in Ranomafana National Park in Madagascar in 2003. The species has the most divergent call of all Anodonthyla species. The toad was named after Emile Rajeriarison, a nature guide.
