One example of many is Mary Somerville. Born 26/12/1780 inย Jedburgh, sheย was a 19th-century polymath and writer. Though she specialised in math and astronomy, she was also well-versed in botany and geology. The "Connection of the Physical Sciences" remains her most notable work.
