It's more about the price of the technical debt than people understand. While D2 and Marathon are on the same engine, the newer version that runs Marathon is much easier to work on and grow than the version running D2.

Combine that with the failure of Sony's other big live service failure in Concord and you have a boat load of money spent on outdated technology and the failed foundational project behind the reason they bought Bungie.

Updating D2 would take at least 3 years, $600 million, and it would divert resources from projects with much more long term profit potential.

Basically, a confluence of cascading crashes all landed in Sony's lap and they're cutting their losses before shareholders cut their nuts off.

You lack the ability to claim the moral high ground on any issues considering how much you and your family personally, professionally, and criminally benefitted from your father's position of power. The media ran cover for your family for years and now no longer is able to do so because they too have lost the moral high ground due to this same faux pearl clutching you seem to indulge in now.

We will have AGI when we achieve persistent context, but there are physical limitations to reaching that level. Physical limitations around compute and memory capacity.

God is context.

The primary barrier to AGI is eternal context. One machine talking to another machine talking to another machine and that eternal reply string persisting across time and space.

Which explains why I still have to paste my CONTEXT.md doc every time I need to work on another piece of my project.
