Today we made "frozen pictures" to help us understand the different people involved in the fur trade. When the students were tapped on the shoulder they had to unfreeze and state who they were and what they were doing. @WCPS72@BentleySchool1
Grade 7s explored books with descriptive language about the four seasons. They collected exemplary sentences and are using them for inspiration for their own descriptive season writing!
We used popcorn to help us write descriptive paragraphs this week.
"Like a golden cloud"
"Like a chicken hatching from an egg"
Great use of figurative language! Plus a yummy snack!
These two boys have found a book series they love! Overheard them saying "Have you met this character yet?" and they're working together to more deeply understand their book. So proud!
Grade 7s worked in pairs to write a quick descriptive paragraph about an apple. They brainstormed imagery related to apples on their own then shared ideas to create vivid writing. One group wrote about a rotton apple! Creative!
Grade 6 and 7s are testing their knowledge of book genres by exploring the library and finding books in each genre. We learned about genres AND got to know our library layout better!
