I got through a college course where I did not understand the texts by talking to my peers who did. Do we afford our Ss the same opportunity for growth and challenge? Let's stop telling kids what they can and can't do and provide opportunity to try until success happens.
Kylene Beers ass Ts about their lexile, then: "If you don't know your lexile level, how the h*** do you know how to choose a book?" Can kids choose books with emotion or passion, or are they locked into a level? The avenue for access is conversation: let them talk it out.
I needed #CCIRA18 to inspire me to take on the challenges of my new position teaching new subjects I am struggling to teach. I am so thankful for the inspiration to teach these things as well as I did the old. I love this organization. @ColoradoReading
