Today, 4th of June, remains a special day in my life, a blessed day of my birth. In line with my personal principles, I have never been known for a loud celebration and I do not encourage anyone to do otherwise on my behalf.
Long before I became the governor, I had kept my birthday very private and it has remained so, since I came into office. It is usually a day of deep reflection, a time to commune with my creator in prayer.
I humbly thank you all for the good wishes and my humble request is for you to join me in prayers for sound health, wisdom, joy in my family and the State.
Let me assure our people that I remain committed to the service and progress of our dear State. Our Government of Assured Prosperity is bequeathing to our people enduring legacies that will stand the threshold of history. Thank you for the love.
"The condition of our nation and the urgent need to rescue Nigeria, informed my decision to leave ADC for NDC."
Yesterday, I formally joined the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), alongside my dear brother, Engr. Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, with one clear purpose: to continue the struggle for a new Nigeria built on justice, competence, accountability, and compassion for the ordinary Nigerian.
As I stated yesterday, this decision was not made out of anger, personal ambition, or convenience. It came after deep reflection on the present condition of our nation and the urgent need to rescue Nigeria from the dangerous path it is currently heading.
Over the years, I have remained steadfast in my conviction that politics should never be about individuals, positions, or personal gain. It must be about the people, especially the millions of Nigerians who today can no longer afford necessities, whose businesses are collapsing, whose children are losing hope, and whose future is becoming increasingly uncertain.
I left the ADC for the same reason I left the Labour Party: the severe, orchestrated litigation and internal crises deliberately designed to ensure that I, alongside many other notable individuals, do not effectively participate in the electoral process. I sincerely appreciate and remain deeply grateful to the Leadership of ADC for the opportunity to work together in pursuit of a better Nigeria. I am particularly grateful to ADC Chairman Senator David Mark for his exceptional Leadership. I also deeply appreciate my Leader and elder brother YE, Atiku Abubakar, as well as other respected leaders within the party.
As we join the NDC, I sincerely appeal to the Nigerian Government against the encouragement of unresolved litigations and the infusion of crises within political parties. Democracy must never become a weapon against the people. A healthy democracy thrives on strong institutions, credible alternatives, and the freedom of citizens to make choices without intimidation, manipulation, or fear. Opposition parties must not be weakened or destroyed, because when democracy loses balance, the people ultimately suffer.
Nigeria today is passing through one of the most difficult periods in its history. Poverty is rising. Hunger is widespread. Insecurity continues to threaten lives and livelihoods. Businesses are shutting down daily. Our young people are becoming discouraged, and many citizens have lost faith in the system. At a time like this, leadership must be driven not by propaganda or division, but by competence, capacity, character, and compassion.
Our decision to join the NDC is therefore not an abandonment of values, but a continuation of the same mission we have always stood for: building a Nigeria where leadership is about service, where public resources are managed responsibly, where institutions function independently, and where every Nigerian, regardless of tribe, religion, region, or social status, can live with dignity, security, and hope.
I remain committed to working with all Nigerians of goodwill across political, ethnic, and religious lines. The task before us is bigger than any individual or political party. It is about the future of our children and the survival of our dear nation.
I thank Nigerians, especially our youths and women, for remaining peaceful, resilient, and hopeful despite the enormous challenges confronting the country. I urge you not to lose faith in Nigeria. Nations do not change because people surrender to hopelessness; they change because people continue to believe, continue to sacrifice, and continue to stand for what is right.
A new Nigeria is still POssible. -PO

1. Marriage is not a partnership of equals. It is a hierarchy: the man is superior, the woman is subordinate. He is the king, the final authority, the leader. She is the queen only because she submits to his rule. Anything else is rebellion dressed up as modernity.
2. Submission flows one way only. The wife submits. The husband loves and leads. "Mutual submission" is a cowardly lie invented by weak men and rebellious women. Kings do not submit. They rule.
3. As a man, If you cannot provide, I mean truly provide and not splitting bills like roommates, then stay out of marriage. You have no right to take a wife if you cannot carry her.
4. As a woman, If you cannot submit deeply enough to take your husband's surname and wear it proudly, then do the world a favor and remain single forever. And if "gender equality" is your religion, go marry someone of your own sex and leave actual marriage alone.
This is the order God designed and nature confirms. Cope or stay out.
Above all, love God.
Happy 2025 World Teachers’ Day!
I celebrate our teachers at all levels on this special day.
As a teacher myself, I honour your sacrifices, dedication and commitment to societal advancement.
In Bayelsa State, our Government of Assured Prosperity, is investing in capacity building and welfare of our teachers. Only recently, we engaged well over 1,000 new teachers to fill knowledge gaps in our schools across the eight Local Government Areas.
My best wishes to you as always.
“In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Today, I visited the site of the ongoing Ekeremor-Ndoro-Agge road construction in the Bayelsa West Senatorial District.
While this road will serve the people of Toru-Ndoro, Peretorugbene and neighbouring riverine communities, it is in fact strategic to the Agge Deep seaport being developed by the Bayelsa State Government.
With the assurance from the contractors and our commitment to funding, I am confident our Government of Assured Prosperity will deliver the first phase of the road covering 27.877 kilometres from Ekeremor main town to Ndoro with a spur to Peretorugbene before the end of this administration.
This is it people! Time to join ADC and get ready for 2027!!!!!!
When it is time to choose a candidate for the coalition comes, it is those in ADC that will make the decision. Ensure you are one.
