I frequently have athletes who push back on lifting with the program. Their top reason: “but coach I lift by myself”. Great, when you only need yourself to win, then I guess that’s a fine excuse. Lifting as a program is more than just improving your individual strength/athleticism…it’s about the culture, mentality, and bonding you build as a team. Those intangibles can separates teams when it counts and you can’t build those things all by yourself.
