How long will your presentation actually take? Word count is only part of the answer. How fast you speak can make a big difference. And when you're writing to a 10-minute target, it can be hard to know whether you're on track. The free Presentation Script Time Calculator gives you a quick answer. Paste in your script, choose your speaking pace, and see your estimated presentation time. Set a target and it will also show you approximately how many words you need to add or cut. No upload. No account required. Your script is processed entirely in your browser. What if your teleprompter could listen instead of making you keep up? Traditional teleprompters scroll at a preset speed. Speak faster, slow down, or pause to make a point, and suddenly you are managing the teleprompter instead of focusing on your audience. ScriptAssist VoiceSync takes a different approach. It listens to your voice and moves the script as you speak. Pause, and it pauses. Pick up your pace, and it follows. When Geetesh Bajaj tested VoiceSync for his independent review of ScriptAssist, he described the experience as feeling “a little like a magic trick.” There is sophisticated technology behind it. But for the presenter, the goal is simple: one less thing to think about while presenting. One of the most common problems we see in scientific presentations is not bad science. It is a slide that asks the audience to do all the work. The data may be accurate. The references may be right. Every required point may be there. But the audience still has to decide what matters, where to look, and what conclusion to take away. Three things usually make the problem worse: • A title that names the topic instead of stating the message • Several data points competing for equal attention • No clear visual hierarchy A scientific slide should not oversimplify the evidence. But it should help the audience understand the evidence. What makes a scientific slide hard for you to follow?
