It makes me so angry when we highlight where there are preventable suicide deaths and the reply is the ‘rate’ is relatively low. Why would that be a reason not to act?

@UniversitiesUK Agree with the aspiration. But only 10 of our universities have achieved award status under Student Minds MH Charter. That is glacial progress. Only 1 University has received a Merit Award. Universities should be embarrassed by the rate of progress. Student Minds needs step up.

Police must be careful not to stigmatise those who call police in crisis. Often police are called because appropriate mental health services are simply not there. Police have a duty to protect as well as investigate. Crisis is govt failure to invest in services.

@iambenwest @Dying4aDegree This is a terrible response from a University that clearly has no emotional intelligence. Bereaved families need candour, support and transparency. A willingness to engage families, be honest and admit failings. UoB have failed on all fronts.
