@VelocityDEX 2/ Connect that wallet and trade:
3/ Login later & see your funds are frozen
4/ Team tweets "this is not a April fools joke"
5/ Annnnd it's gone
6/ Team issues IOUs, no apology, no accountability & no realistic plan to recover the funds they literally helped "hackers" steal
@VelocityDEX Just a bunch of crooks setting up their latest scam. Instead of all this jargon and noise, just be honest and say "deposit USDT and get IOUs when we steal it all"
@VelocityDEX Most people have not and won't claim and you know it. Even with the tiny amount of IOUs claimed and most burnt, it is still pointless. 3.1M into the fund when you lost almost 300M is an insult and shows a complete lack of commitment to making users whole.
@VelocityDEX This is a long winded way I saying we will get pennies on the dollar at best. No wonder people aren't even claiming the IOU (DFX) token, it is a farce.
@Senecal19 Did you read the terms of the Tether assistance? They have not even been met. You throw insults out like a true nerd who has never been punched in the face. We are both safe behind our keyboards, lets not pretend you are different 😂
@Senecal19 Tether, a $180 billion company did not back them. They agreed to a credit facility with conditions that are yet to be met.
This not a attempt to recover, that's my point, it is a farce, there is zero chance of it ever working and they know it.
@redacted_noah@hankobaggins I'd rather Drift be completely transparent. What happened, who was responsible, what repercussions followed, and what are the real odds of repayment? The honest answer is "very little chance", say it. Giving victims hope without the maths feels like a farce.
@redacted_noah@hankobaggins Noah, you seem like a decent guy, but you cannot model repayment of nearly $300m around people using Velocity out of goodwill. The people responsible for the security failures are still there. Deliberate or negligent, trust was destroyed. Serious capital will never come back.
@redacted_noah@hankobaggins I appreciate you engaging, Noah. You seem genuine and inherited this mess. But I moved to Hyperliquid. Give me one rational reason to move my capital to Velocity after Drift lost my funds? Yield and lower fees are nowhere near enough to restore that trust.
@hankobaggins@Fr4ktal@redacted_noah@grok Did you even read the link? Elliptic literally calls it a "suspected DPRK-linked attack" and cites indicators consistent with DPRK activity. That supports DPRK involvement. It does NOT prove Drift's internal story or exonerate the people who signed the transactions.
@redacted_noah@hankobaggins Drift's entire 2025 gross protocol revenue was about $41m. Hyperliquid did about $972m in 2025 and is running around $728m annualized now. So $100m isn't a "reasonable target" based on Drift's history. It's 2.4x Drift's best full year, after trust has been destroyed.
@redacted_noah@hankobaggins That's exactly where I am now: Hyperliquid. So why in a million years would I move to Velocity? Yield means nothing if I don't trust the platform with my money. MEXC can offer low fees and yield too. Drift already lost my money. Trust is the problem, not features.
