@justinmast @electricplantco It's been an exciting journey! 🙂

My past work in neuroscience has guided my foray into the fascinating field of plant signaling. Excited to relay that @ElectricPlantCo just announced Bombadil, an AI foundation model I’ve been building for the past 3 years that decodes plant electrical signals in real time.

[Justin Mast @justinmast]

1/ Today we’re unveiling Bombadil, @electricplantco's foundation model that reads the electrical signals of living plants and turns them into a continuous view of their physiology.

Trained on 7M+ hours of plant electrical signal across 125+ species. That makes Bombadil the most species-diverse model of directly recorded electrical biosignals in existence. The animal equivalent would be one model that reads the brainwaves of blue whales, horseshoe crabs and fruit flies.

Over the weekend had the pleasure of attending Harvard Medical School's "Consciousness: Science, Spirituality, and Global Impact" conference, organized by Dr. Bala Subramaniam and Dr. Sepideh Hariri. Very exciting to be expanding the boundaries of science with an amazing group.

On Sunday I gave a presentation at the International Association of Animal Hospice and Palliative Care conference about research my nonprofit, Open Minded Scientists, has been conducting with veterinarians Dr. Kathleen Cooney (center), Dr. Ken Gorczyca (left), and Dr. Lori Kogan.

Best of luck to all the teams in the 2025 Techstars Space Accelerator cohort. It was a pleasure learning about your tech and helping out where I could during "Mentor Madness". Looking forward to helping out more whenever I can.

I wrote a short summary of the known science of plant electrophysiological signaling, which is the foundation of a new startup I'm working on called the Electric Plant Company.

It's fun stuff: https://t.co/iEq9km5Uw1

Research presented at the International Association of Animal Hospice and Palliative Care conference last year with Dr. Ken Gorczyca and Dr. Kathleen Cooney. Our findings showed similar experiences between veterinarians and human hospice workers at their patients' time of death.

Remembering my time on the @ocean_missions ecological research expedition last Fall. Amazing experience. Great team. Hoping to work with them again this year.
