Telangana Ganesh immersions leave 13 dead: DGP

Thirteen people, including a sub-inspector, died during Ganesh idol immersion-related incidents across Telangana, while 26 others were injured, Director General of Police C V Anand said.

The DGP said the deaths and injuries occurred during the 10-day Ganesh festivities across the state.

A total of 1.24 lakh Ganesh idols were registered at public places across Telangana, Anand said.

He added that another 3.5 lakh to 4 lakh idols were installed in homes, gated communities and apartments across the state and were immersed respectively.
