Quick tip: Most weekend golfers are too steep with driver and too shallow with irons.
Check your numbers or film your swing and tweak ball position/setup.
What’s your typical AoA with driver or irons? Drop it below — I’ll reply with quick advice!
More TrackMan breakdowns, gear talk & course vibes coming daily. Follow for the lab ⛳
This one TrackMan number is quietly costing most golfers 20-30 yards off the tee and turning their irons into chunks and fats…
…and 95% of amateurs have never even heard of it.
If you want longer drives and crisp iron shots, stop scrolling.
Thread: Angle of Attack explained simply 👇
What is Angle of Attack?
It’s the up or down direction your clubhead is moving at impact (in degrees).
• Negative = hitting down (steep)
• Positive = hitting up (shallow)
Ball flight impact:
• Driver: Want positive AoA (+1° to +5°) for higher launch + less spin = bombs.
• Irons: Slightly negative AoA (-2° to -5°) for crisp compression.
• Wedges: More negative for spin & stopping power.
Quick question:
Do you run the same grip size on every club in your bag… or do you mix it up (jumbo on driver, standard on irons, midsize on wedges, etc.)?
What’s your current favorite grip brand or style?
Drop your full setup + why it works for you 👇
I’m genuinely curious and will reply to as many as I can. ⛳

@bobbyhansenjr Harborside for sure. Only 20 mins south of the city. Never any traffic there or back. Two 18s. True links feels with really plush fairways and lightning fast greens. Definitively my go to.
@Jbren545 Lag putting is a huge 3-putt saver.
Use the ‘manhole cover’ strategy: Picture a 3-4 foot circle around the hole. Your only goal is to stop the ball somewhere inside that circle — ideally just short.
Swing thought: Pick a spot 2-3 feet short of the hole and lag it to die right there. Smooth shoulders, shorter backstroke.
This one shift leaves you with easy tap-ins instead of stressful comebackers.
Try it this week and let me know how it goes.
Lefties, righties — what’s the #1 pain point holding your game back right now?
Driver inconsistency? Short game yips? Putting woes? Irons flying everywhere?
Drop it below and I’ll reply with a quick, practical fix.
Let’s actually improve together this week ⛳
No gatekeeping.

Face Angle: Simply where the clubface is aimed at impact (relative to target).
This largely controls initial ball start direction.
For lefties: Open face often = push/fade, closed = pull/hook.
Combine all three and you start seeing why your ball does what it does.
Drop your latest TrackMan numbers or biggest question below — I’ll reply!

New to @TrackmanGolf or just want to actually understand what those numbers mean on the screen?
Here’s a quick 101 on the big ones that actually move the needle for your swing. Starting with the direction trio 👇
#GolfTwitter#TrackMan#LeftyGolfLab
Face to Path: The difference between where your clubface is pointing and the path the club is swinging on.
This is the #1 predictor of ball start direction + curve.
Small gap = straighter shots
Big gap = more slice/hook spin
Aim for under 2-3° difference for consistency. Game-changer once you dial it in. 🎯 ⛳️
