During a recent traffic stop in St. James Parish, our incredible @LDWF agents discovered 8 compressed blocks of cocaine concealed within the vehicle’s batteries. The total package weight was over 9 kilograms.

During processing, it was determined that the suspect was in the country illegally. Working with @ICEgov, a detainer has been activated.

I want to thank the incredible team at the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries for their exemplary work. Law and order will always reign in Louisiana!

Louisiana fully supports U.S. Border Patrol and @ICEgov, and all their agents who are rapidly making our State and country safer by taking criminal illegal aliens off of the streets and back to where they belong. State law prohibits interfering with federal immigration enforcement - and I fully expect that all law enforcement and local officials will not obstruct federal authorities and will enforce state law to protect people and property.

Thankfully, after years and tens of millions of wasted dollars, the federal courts have finally ended the New Orleans Police Department’s consent decree. Now we can focus on real policing again—taking the handcuffs off officers, putting them on criminals, and rebuilding the NOPD. Federal courts do not belong in the business of running police departments.
