A historic day in Port Fourchon as we celebrated @Shell’s Mars Platform producing ONE BILLION BARRELS of oil.
This milestone has never been achieved by a US facility either on land or water.
Never let anyone tell you that Louisiana is not the energy capital of the world!
🚨Louisiana’s Ten Commandments law is back in effect!
Thank you to the Fifth Circuit for this important ruling. Kudos to @AGLizMurrill for not backing down.
Common sense is making a comeback!

⚠️Louisiana: ALL state offices will close at noon Sunday, Jan. 25, and remain closed through 11:59 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, due to inclement weather. Road closures: 511, https://t.co/AVxfbU795s, LA DOTD X accounts, or the Louisiana 511 app. Avoid unnecessary travel
DOTD is working diligently to keep all state routes passable during severe weather events. When the situation deteriorates to where some roads are impassable, there are priority routes where DOTD focuses its de-icing efforts.
Proud to see President @realDonaldTrump leading the charge to ensure everyday Americans aren’t footing the bill for Big Tech’s data centers!
In Louisiana, we’re doing the same—making sure companies, not families, pay for the power they need.
That keeps energy bills lower and brings new tech jobs to our state!
When it comes to broadband, the Trump Administration’s deregulation plan is on track to save taxpayers $21 billion.
“The average cost for each new household or business connected in Louisiana fell to $3,943 from $5,245.“
This is a testament to President @realDonaldTrump, Secretary @howardlutnick, and Connect LA’s leadership. https://t.co/fDlFfSqr71
Mike Cazes was a dedicated sheriff and an even better man.
Please join Sharon and me in praying for his family, loved ones, and the entire West Baton Rouge community as they mourn this tremendous loss. https://t.co/ceH10wNStU
During a recent traffic stop in St. James Parish, our incredible @LDWF agents discovered 8 compressed blocks of cocaine concealed within the vehicle’s batteries. The total package weight was over 9 kilograms.
During processing, it was determined that the suspect was in the country illegally. Working with @ICEgov, a detainer has been activated.
I want to thank the incredible team at the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries for their exemplary work. Law and order will always reign in Louisiana!
This is a generational investment that places Louisiana at the forefront of America’s tech transformation. I would like to thank President @realDonaldTrump, Secretary @howardlutnick, and our congressional delegation for making this possible.
By focusing on efficiency and accountability, Louisiana is leading the way in deploying infrastructure, creating jobs, and preparing our country to win the future!
We are thrilled to announce, in recognition of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, that all 2026 Louisiana high school diplomas will feature a commemorative America 250 seal!
We want to ensure Louisiana students not only learn the history of America, but see themselves as a part of it.
Louisiana fully supports U.S. Border Patrol and @ICEgov, and all their agents who are rapidly making our State and country safer by taking criminal illegal aliens off of the streets and back to where they belong. State law prohibits interfering with federal immigration enforcement - and I fully expect that all law enforcement and local officials will not obstruct federal authorities and will enforce state law to protect people and property.
New Orleans has seen a high number of violent crimes committed by illegal aliens, including Kristie Thibodeaux who was shot to death in the French Quarter. I support ICE operations that ensure violent criminals are removed and ensure legal immigration policies are respected and followed. #lalege
Thankfully, after years and tens of millions of wasted dollars, the federal courts have finally ended the New Orleans Police Department’s consent decree. Now we can focus on real policing again—taking the handcuffs off officers, putting them on criminals, and rebuilding the NOPD. Federal courts do not belong in the business of running police departments.

In Louisiana, every day is Veterans Day.
Thank you to our incredible veterans here in Louisiana and across the country.
You are heroes! May God bless you.
