Another massive Russian attack. It's the middle of winter, and the target for the Russians remains unchanged: our energy infrastructure. Among their objectives were gas and energy facilities that sustain normal life for our people. Over 40 missiles were launched in this attack, including ballistic missiles. At least 30 were destroyed. Additionally, more than 70 Russian attack drones were launched overnight. Thanks to our air defense forces and all involved units, we’ve managed to maintain the functionality of our energy system.
However, we must continue strengthening the capabilities of Ukraine’s air shield. Promises made by partners at the NATO summit in Washington and within the Ramstein format still remain partially unfulfilled. We’ve also discussed licenses for the production of air defense systems and missiles for them, which could serve as one of the effective security guarantees for Ukraine. This is both realistic and necessary to implement.
We are grateful to everyone who is helping our nation. But this is not just about our country. Right now, through the defense of Ukraine, we are determining whether Europe and the democratic world as a whole can reliably and effectively stop wars for the long term.
@mahdizda@Nigel_Farage Congratulations! More like you and fewer like farage please.
Incredible how somebody here through accident of birth considers himself more patriotic than somebody who has CHOSEN British citizenship.
The UK has used FPTP since 1885, when:
- Women couldn't vote.
- There were just 5.7 mln registered voters.
- 12 out of 13 parties in today's Parliament didn't exist.
- We didn't have cars, the radio, the NHS, or even tea bags.
A lot has changed. Why can’t our voting system?
@POTUS Ukraine has been invaded and many have been killed and tortured. Many have had their lives ruined, their cities destroyed. Many children have been kidnapped, condemned to a life of russian misery.
You helped a bit, often reluctantly, but you didn't defend Ukraine.
Tonight, in the suburbs of Kherson, the occupiers launched a drone directly into a high-rise building. All people in all countries should see what the Russians are doing.
@MartinSLewis I could not be without radio 3 and often check the news page for the latest. I also watch a fair bit on iPlayer. I think the licence fee is excellent value for money and am baffled by the people who think that its terrible political coverage is a reason to disband the whole thing
A massive explosion turned Svitlana's life into a "before" and "after".
One Friday, she was getting her children ready for school. Glass shards cut her entire body into pieces. The injured children were bleeding. Svitlana rushed to save her kids. In a few minutes, an ambulance arrived and provided help. The 9-year-old girl, 11-year-old boy and their mom were taken to the hospital.
Svitlana was taken to the intensive care unit. She suffered a concussion, eye injuries, multiple cut wounds to her face, chest, upper and lower limbs. Trauma surgeon Kyrylo Suprunenko wasted no time in performing surgery.
Svitlana received a blood transfusion and is still in intensive care. She is waiting for her husband, who has been defending Ukraine since 2019, and keeps asking about their daughter, who is in a children's hospital.
